School Closures and Late Starts

In the event school is delayed or closed because of bad weather, local radio stations and Portland television stations will be notified as early as possible. The District will also update our Closure Notice on the District Website homepage and use our School Messenger Calling System to inform families of any inclement weather-related changes.

Remember, no information will be reported if the schools are operating on a regular schedule.

What is the Kindergarten schedule when school is delayed for 1 or 2 hours?

Since the Kindergarten is on a full-day schedule, just like grades 1-12, when school is delayed 1 hour due to weather, the schedule for the Kindergarten is the same as all other grades, including the bus schedule.

Is breakfast served on late-start days?

Breakfast is served when school starts one hour late. However, we do not serve breakfast on a 2-hour late start.

What is the Kindergarten schedule on days with a scheduled early release?

On days when we have a scheduled early release at 11:30 am, the Kindergarten students are on the same schedule as all other grades 1-12. If you have questions, please contact the Elementary School Office at 360-795-3261 or talk with the Kindergarten teacher.
